Brunel University Space Study

client: Brunel University
location: Uxbridge, London
date: 2009

category: feasibility study/masterplanning

As consultant to Stanton Williams, Brunel Estates commissioned a study to examine, through comparison of replacement and refurbishment options, best value in meeting the Universities aspirations to provide sufficient new or modernised accommodation to meet anticipated space needs.

The study involved a comprehensive appraisal of the existing 1960′s campus buildings and existing and future space requirements, and recommendations for new build and proposed re-organisation of buildings to maximise use, including review of external linkages and re-connection of the original 1960′s masterplan.

Other studies undertaken by Nicola Llowarch acting as consultant to Stanton Williams include a commission by University College London (UCL), in collaboration with AECOM, to investigate and verify the suitability of two sites identified within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, for a new University Quarter for UCL.
