Tower Hill Feasibility Study

client: Historic Royal Palaces
location: Tower Hill, London
date: 2008

category: masterplanning/feasibility study

In 2008 LLA were appointed by Historic Royal Palaces to carry out a feasibility study to examine improvements to the admissions and the visitor arrivals process on Tower Hill. The objective of the study was to provide a strategic overview through the comprehensive appraisal of a series of options examining potential alternative arrangements of the various components that make up the arrivals process – ticketing, Welcome Centre & Information, cafe and retail spaces.

A preferred option was costed and further areas of study identified to inform future decision making.

A phase of works to implement changes to ticketing was carried out in 2012 with work sequence carefully managed to minimise disruption and ensure continuous operation of the facilities.
